Children’s Choice Montessori on 5th street is a small school set up in a darling old house near Q Street in Springfield. Sara Nibblett is the has been the lead teacher and Site Director at 5th street, since 2010. Sara started her Montessori career at Children’s Choice Montessoriback in 2003 as the lead toddler teacher and has since enjoyed having children ages 2 – 6 in her classroom.

The staff at Children’s Choice 5th street are prepared to support children who are no longer wearing diapers but are still working through the potty training process. It is our belief that children who begin their Montessori journey between the ages of two and three and stay for a total of three years get the most of their Montessori experience.

The site at 5th street’s maximum capacity is 16 children, this allows for a 1 to 8 teacher-student ratio the majority of the time. The low student/teacher ratio, along with the mixed-aged classroom, allows for the site to have a real home-like feel. The children at 5th street have access and exposure to Math, Language, Sensorial, Practical life, Cultural-based materials, and Art daily. Peace Education, Virtues, Social Skills and Lessons in Grace and Courtesy are a huge part of our daily routines.

The staff at Children’s Choice 5th street has a goal to help the children in their care to step out into the world as engaged, competent, responsible, and respectful citizens with an understanding and appreciation of the world around them. The staff hopes to spark a love of learning in the child that they will carry with them for life. This program recognizes that all children learn in different ways and we strive to accommodate all learning styles. Our children are free to learn at their own pace and advance through the
curriculum as they are ready, all while being guided by the teacher.

Children’s Choice 5th street offers a morning half-day slot (8:30 – 11:30), School Day (8:30 – 3:00) and Extended Day (as early as a 7:00 a.m. drop off and a 6:00 p.m. pick up time).
